Digital consultancy Digirati based in UK (London/Glasgow) and the Semantic Web Company (SWC) are to join forces in a new services initiative to deliver Dynamic Semantic Publishing solutions for specialist online publishers. The partnership will combine Digirati’s expertise in delivering high volumes of complex data and content online with SWC’s PoolParty product suite. These solutions will aim to break the mould of traditional content managed websites and portals by creating a higher level of content findability as well as flexibility of content delivery.
We are seeing a new type of requirement from many of our customers; they want to think about ontology first and then deliver content dynamically based on what they have defined. By utilising the latest semantic technologies such as those delivered by SWC’s product suite we hope to demonstrate new possibilities in this area. What interests us specifically about PoolParty is that the philosophy of the product design is to maximise the potential of the Semantic Web technology stack. This technology is the obvious choice for delivering large volumes of dynamic content via the web when findability and the ability to infer relevance is a priority. Utilising Linked Data also has added benefits to many of our clients who are now looking to participate in the Open Data agenda.
Very similar to software development, metadata management finally has become very agile and flexible. Linked data technologies in contrast to traditional forms of content publishing help to automate the aggregation of interrelated content. This highly dynamic way of content publishing is built on top of knowledge graphs and controlled vocabularies based on open standards.
To launch the partnership both companies will be jointly exhibiting at the International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO UK) Conference (London, July 89, 2013). Further details regarding the Dynamic Semantic Publishing model will be made available during the event.
