The Semantic Web Company (SWC) and the PoolParty Semantic Suite were recently featured as Sample Vendors in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Natural Language Technologies 2021. The Hype Cycle, which analyzes different areas of natural language technologies in their ability to create impact and innovations in the field, has listed SWC as a vendor in Ontologies and Knowledge Graphs, Semantic Search, and Text Autoclassification.
As part of their methodology to help inform business leaders about how they should approach emerging natural language technologies, the Gartner Hype Cycle provides a “graphic representation of the maturity and adoption of technologies and applications, and how they are potentially relevant to solving real business problems and exploiting new opportunities.”
As far as SWC and PoolParty are concerned, all 3 areas they were featured in are on the edge of or embedded in what Gartner refers to as the “Slope of Enlightenment.” Technologies within this slope are becoming increasingly understood and appreciated for their benefits with greater investments being made by decision makers. Though Ontologies and Knowledge Graphs were rated lower on the slope for the interest they garner, they were rated with a “High” benefit score.

Its business impact includes facilitating a better employee experience by connecting employees to information based on their activities or profiles, and a better customer experience by improving self-service portals, etc. Semantic search is also said to automate the internal process of document and data retrieval for employees. Text Autoclassifcation
